Our Belief

Great education
changes everything.

We started Meridian because we believed families in Harnaut deserved a school that didn't ask children to settle for less. Twenty years later, our alumni are engineers, doctors, teachers and entrepreneurs. None of that happened by accident.

Our Story

Twenty years of
not settling.

Principal's Message
Dr. Sunita Sharma
Principal, M.Ed Ph.D
"We started Meridian because every child in Harnaut deserves a school that believes in them — fully, unconditionally, and without asking them to be anything other than themselves."

In twenty years, we have watched children arrive shy and unsure, and leave confident and capable. We have seen students from our school go on to become engineers, doctors, teachers and entrepreneurs. Every one of them is proof that where you come from does not determine where you go. What matters is the quality of the foundation — and that is our job.

M

Our Mission

To give every child in Harnaut access to the quality of education, facilities and teaching that they deserve — irrespective of their background — and to build in them the academic strength and personal character to thrive in any environment they enter.

V

Our Vision

A Meridian graduate is not just a student who passed exams. They are a person who knows how to think clearly, speak confidently, work hard with integrity, and contribute meaningfully to the world around them. That is the standard we hold ourselves to every single day.

What we teach.
How we teach it.

Class 1 to 8, CBSE pattern. Every subject, every class — taught to be understood, not memorised.

Subjects Taught
🔤

English Language

Phonics, reading, basic grammar and spoken English from Day 1.

📖

Hindi

Varnamala, basic grammar, reading Hindi text aloud and writing sentences.

🔢

Mathematics

Numbers 1–100, addition, subtraction, shapes, and the foundations of multiplication.

🌿

EVS

Environment, community, body, seasons — explored through activities and observation.

🎨

Art & Physical Education

Daily art sessions and structured physical activity. Both treated as core, not optional.

Our Teaching Focus

Understanding over memorisation

We never ask a Class 1 child to memorise something they don't understand yet.

Oral fluency

Children speak in English from the very first week. Shyness is gently, patiently addressed.

Number sense before speed

We build genuine number intuition before rushing into speed and rote tables.

Joy of learning

These two years set a child's emotional relationship with school. We take that very seriously.

By the End of Class 2, Your Child Will
  • Read simple English sentences aloud with confidence and correct pronunciation.
  • Write short paragraphs in both English and Hindi independently.
  • Know multiplication tables 1–5 and understand when to apply addition vs subtraction.
  • Speak short sentences in English without prompting.
  • Have a genuine comfort and curiosity about coming to school every morning.
Subjects Taught
📝

English

Essay writing, comprehension, grammar depth, letter writing and English literature begins.

📚

Hindi

Sahitya, Vyakaran, Nibandh and advanced reading — Hindi as a subject, not just a language.

Mathematics

Long division, fractions, decimals intro, geometry — concepts built step by step.

🌍

Science & Social Science

Physics, chemistry and biology concepts at Class 3–4 level. History and geography introduced.

💻

Computer Science (Class 3+)

Basic computer operations, typing, MS Word and internet literacy — practical and hands-on.

Our Teaching Focus

Writing as thinking

We treat essays and compositions as exercises in structured thought, not just grammar.

Conceptual maths

Division and fractions are concepts to be understood visually before they're computed numerically.

World curiosity

Geography and history taught as stories of real places and real people — not facts to memorise.

By End of Class 4, Your Child Will
  • Write a structured 3-paragraph essay in English independently.
  • Understand fractions, long division and basic geometry with confidence.
  • Know how to use a computer, type a document and browse safely.
  • Locate major countries and Indian states on a map from memory.
  • Read and understand simple Hindi poetry and prose passages.
Subjects Taught
🔬

Our Teaching Focus

Lab-first Science

Every Science concept in Class 5–6 is introduced via a practical experiment before the textbook.

Algebra as problem-solving

We introduce algebra as a tool for real problems, not an abstract game with letters.

Research & presentation

Social Science projects develop research, critical thinking and presentation skills simultaneously.

By End of Class 6, Your Child Will
  • Conduct a basic lab experiment independently and write a proper observation report.
  • Solve algebraic equations and understand why, not just how.
  • Present a 5-minute speech or project to the class without reading from notes.

Science. Done properly.

Every Science concept from Class 5 onwards is introduced through a lab experiment before the textbook is opened. Our students don't just know what a reaction looks like — they've seen it, smelled it and recorded it in their own words.
